But the Japanese are very calendar-oriented, and think of Autumn as starting on September 1. Fashion-conscious women start wearing thicker, Autumn-colored clothing, without any regard to the still-scorching temperatures. (Thank goodness I'm very unfashionable). I am always impatient for Autumn. It's my favorite season of the year, and it is always too short here in northern Japan. Winter comes FAR too quickly and lasts FAR too long.
